How to care for our products
♥ CARING FOR YOUR TU LAS PIECES ♥
TU LAS products are made from natural and noble materials. They are beautiful and durable, but every once in a while, they do need a soft caring touch. Here is a handy manual on how to care for your favourite wooden pieces to keep them in shape for years to come. It’s super easy.

Plates, serving pieces and boards
Daily upkeep:
Our plates and servingware are not suitable for the dishwasher. We recommend careful hand wash only. Please do not expose them to long-term contact with water. Keeping them dry is essential: wipe and dry after each use.
Extra care:
Feeling a little extra? Apply a coat of food safe oil to your TU LAS plates and serving pieces. We recommend doing it once a year or every two years, depending on your needs and amount of use.
Stains and scratches? No problem! It is our belief that they just add to the complex character of wood. However, if you want to restore the pristine aspect of your cutting boards or trays, you can smoothen their surface with a piece of sandpaper. We recommend doing it every two years or so.
Recommended products:
Rubio Monocoat Universal Maintenance Oil, plus a cotton cloth and a piece of sand paper.

Shelves and wine racks
Daily upkeep:
TU LAS shelves and wine racks are finished with a natural, colourless beeswax. To remove dust, just use a slightly damp cloth and you’re good to go.
Extra care:
Unvarnished wood needs to be nourished to preserve its beauty. We encourage you to apply a coat of oil or wax to the surface of the shelf once a year or every two years, depending on your needs.
Recommended products:
Kreidezeit Safflower Oil, plus a cotton cloth and a piece of paper. You can find a ready care kit here.

Table tops
Daily upkeep:
TU LAS table tops are coated with a natural, colorless beeswax. To remove dust and crumbs, just use a slightly damp cloth and you’re good to go.
Extra care:
Unvarnished wood needs to be nourished to preserve its beauty. We encourage you to apply a coat of oil or wax to the surface of your table top once a year or every two years, depending on your needs.
Wine stains, scratches and felt-tip pen? Don’t worry! If you want to see your table top as pristine and smooth as on that first day, you can polish its surface with a piece of sand paper.
Recommended products:
RMC Surface Care, a ready-to-use cleaning product for weekly or monthly care of surfaces treated with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus. Also suitable for easy cleaning of localized stains.
RMC Refresh Eco, a ready-to-use sprayable product to refresh and restore wooden surfaces treated with RMC oil.
